Why REN’s Renewal Mask?

The first product that I discovered many years back by REN was the Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask and it has now been over 10 years since I use it almost every week.

Glycol is a type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), while the base is sugar cane. The ingredients are found in the natural acids found in foods and the promise of the AHA is to remove dead cells and skin renewal benefits.  I also found that a weekly use and combination of derma roller, weekly REN masks minimize the appearance of dark spots on my forehead and cheeks.

What I like about this mask

Texture of product – it has small granules, which add scrubbing effect when I apply it.

The smell – there is a pleasant, bee-wax smell to it, nothing strong or perfumed.

Skin feel – after about 10-15 mins of using this mask, my skin feels clean, healthy and definitely more bright.

How to use for best results

You do not need much of the product, spread a thin layer after cleansing and leave for ten minutes. I use a clean cloth to wash off the mask afterwards and lukewarm water. The texture reminds somewhat of a mix of wax and sugar.
The mask may feel slightly tingly, but this is totally normal. After cleansing, you will see how radiant and re-energized skin looks.

Oh, do not forget to use it on the neck too! I use this mask once a week on Saturdays after scrub. What to remember is this mask can make skin more sensitive to the sun, so use the SPF day cream afterwards (which is a good idea anyway to prevent skin from ageing).


Amongst ingredients, I have noticed different kinds of oil, which is always great, and 100% natural fragrance!
